Blood Donation Camp-2024

The Youth Red Cross and National Service Scheme of the college had jointly organized a “Blood Donation Drive 2024” in collaboration with St. Joseph’s Hospital Blood Bank, Mysuru on 19th April, 2024 at 10:00 am in the college campus. The event witnessed an overwhelming response from the community, with more than 50 students of the college coming forward to donate blood.
The event was graced by the presence of distinguished personalities, including Rev. Fr. Issac Rathnakar, Correspondent, St Anne’s Institutions, Mrs. Trupti Bopanna, Principal, St Anne’s Degree College, Fr. Charles, Asst. Parish Priest, St Anne’s Church, Virajpet, Mrs. Hema B. D, IQAC Coordinator and HOD of Management, Mr. Mohammed Ibrahim, Blood Bank Director, St Joseph’s Hospital, Mysore, Mr. Shanthi Bhushan, NSS Officer, Ms. Vileena Gonsalves, YRC Officer, Teaching and non-teaching staff, Blood donors and Volunteers.
The drive was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Issac Rathnakar, Correspondent, St Anne’s Institutions, Virajpet by watering a plant, accompanied by all the dignitaries. He also addressed the gathering by emphasizing the need for selflessness in human life. He also commended the work of the Red Cross and NSS units, urging everyone to prioritize health protection.
Mr. Mohammed Ibrahim, Blood Bank Director, St Joseph’s Hospital Mysore, explained the importance of blood donation to the students and raised awareness about the procedures to be followed during blood donation.
Mrs. Trupti Bopanna, Principal of the college, emphasized that blood donation is one of the greatest acts of charity and students should understand its importance.
A team of experts from St Joseph’s Hospital, Mysore headed by Mr. Mohammed Ibrahim, Blood Bank Director and 8 staff of St Joseph’s Hospital, Mysuru were present. Totally 58 units of blood were collected out of which 56 were students 2 were staff members.
Overall, the blood donation camp was a resounding success, furthering the noble cause of blood donation and inspiring hope for those in need of lifesaving transfusion.
