Anne’s Premier League

Date: 3rd and 4th of May 2024
Venue: St. Anne’s College Ground
Department of BCA, in collaboration with IQAC and the Department of Physical Education, organized Anne’s Premier League, a League Cricket Tournament for boys, and an Interclass Throwball Tournament for girls on the 3rd and 4th of May at St. Anne’s Ground, Virajpet.
Cricket Tournament Report:
The auctioning process for the cricket league took place on the 25th of April, with 8 teams accompanied by their team managers and two iconic players. The auction involved intense discussions and calculations, with each team bidding for 10 players out of the 96 available. The bidding had a maximum limit of 500 points per player, and the auction concluded with the assembly of full cricket squads for the tournament.
The cricket tournament commenced on the 3rd with an inaugural ceremony at 9:30 am. Rev. Fr. Issac Ratnakar and Principal Mrs. Trupti Bopanna unveiled the trophies and wished both teams well, promoting sportsmanship and unity. Eight teams competed in cricket, with each match consisting of 4 overs. The top four teams proceeded to the semi-finals held on the 4th of May at 9:00 am. The finals witnessed a thrilling match of 6 overs, with Team Titans emerging as champions. Digital scorekeeping via the Cricheroes app and commentary by Bhavan B J of III BCA added excitement to the tournament, which ran smoothly under the guidance of referees Nouman and Shabu.
Throwball Tournament:
The inaugural ceremony set the tone for sportsmanship, with Rev. Fr. Issac Ratnakar and Principal Mrs. Trupti Bopanna extending their well-wishes. Eleven teams participated, showcasing energetic play and intense competition. III BCA emerged victorious in the final match, demonstrating excellent teamwork and skill. Throughout the tournament, Mr. Raja Rai, the Physical Director, provided valuable guidance.

Individual trophies were awarded to all the winners and runners-up of the tournament and a token of appreciation was presented to the referees and scorekeeper. The event concluded with refreshments for all participants, marking a successful and memorable Anne’s Premier League tournament.
