Inauguration and Orientation Program-2024

The Youth Red Cross wing and NSS unit intended for the service to the society was formally inaugurated for the academic year 2024-25 on 10th September, 2024. The Chief Guest was Mr. Charles D’Souza, Principal, Government PU College, Tithimathi, in his inaugural speech, he emphasized the importance of cultivating humanitarian values from the educational stage. He urged students to engage in work willingly, stating that actions taken out of genuine interest are commendable. He highlighted that the social initiatives of the NSS and Red Cross units are significant in this regard.
The Patron of the program, Rev. Fr. Madalai Muthu, Correspondent, St Anne’s Degree College, Virajpet led the oath and in his address, insisted the students to nurture a spirit of service. He urged them to be committed to selfless service and engage in helping others, asserting that cooperation, love and trust contributing themselves in becoming a responsible person.
The President of the event, Mrs. Trupti Bopanna, Principal of the college, mentioned that the NSS unit and Youth Red Cross wing are vital components of the college, urging students to actively participate in these units and work towards the development of the society.
Mr. B. N. Shantibhushan, NSS officer, delivered the introductory remarks and highlighted the upcoming events and plan of action prepared by the NSS unit and YRC wing.
Mrs. Hema B. D, IQAC Coordinator and Head of Business Administration Department, Ms. Vileena Gonsalves, YRC Officer and all the staff in the committee were present in the program.
Certificates of appreciation were awarded to NSS volunteers who participated in the National Integration Camp and district-level marathon. All the NSS volunteers and YRC members took active part in the program and promised to render their own part of service to society. 150 volunteers of NSS and 100 members of YRC unit were present.
