M.Com Industrial Visit – 2025

On the 6th of December, 2024, M. Com students of St. Anne’s PG Centre, visited the Defense Food Research Laboratory (DFRO), under the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), located in Mysore. The visit was organized with the objective of familiarizing students with the research and innovations in food technology for the defense sector. The students were provided with an opportunity to understand the significance of DFRO’s work in the context of national defense and its contribution to the development of specialized food products for the armed forces. Mrs. Drishya K P and Mrs. Pooja H K accompanied the students.
The visit began with an informative session where a senior scientist from DFRO-DRDO welcomed the students and provided an overview of the laboratory’s history, mission, and objectives. Students were then taken to the exhibition room and provided insights on food preservation techniques, high-performance food products, packaging innovations, and nutritional considerations for defense personnel.
The visit to DFRO-DRDO Mysore was an enriching experience for the M. Com students. This visit will undoubtedly inspire students to explore the dynamic and impactful field of defense research and food technology.
