Women’s Day Celebration 2024
International Women’s Day, celebrated globally on March 8th. It is a day to honor and appreciate women’s contributions across various fields and backgrounds. This year at St. Anne’s Degree College, we celebrated Women’s Day by recognizing exceptional female students and organizing a “Cooking Without Fire” competition for all our staff members.
On March 14th, 2024, Rev. Fr. Issac Rathnakar, Correspondent of St. Anne’s Institution, and Mrs. Trupti Bopanna, Principal of St. Anne’s Degree College, felicitated three exceptional female students for their achievements in the field of dance:
- Lavanya B.N. (IIBBA): A world-renowned dancer listed in the Varksha Book of World Records 2023.
- Preksha Bhat (IIIBCA): A talented Bharatanatyam dancer with multiple awards like Bharatha Vikaasa Rathna National Award and Natya Kala Priya National Award.
- Yashika (IIIBSC): A captivating dancer who has received numerous national and international awards for her performances.
A Cooking Without Fire Competition was organized exclusively for all our staff members. One hour was given for preparation and 15 minutes for presentation. Thirteen teams participated in this event. The event gave a platform to the staff members to demonstrate their culinary knowledge, preparation of a dish, and display the dish before a judging panel. Their efforts were evaluated based on four parameters: a) Unique Dish name, b) Taste, c) Presentation, and d)Hygiene., the winners were announced: Participants infused lots of creativity and served delicious eatables to enhance their taste buds. After a challenging evaluation by the judging panel, Rev Fr. Issac Rathnakar, Correspondent, St. Anne’s Institution, and Rev Fr. Charles, Assistant Parish Priest, the winners were announced:
- I Place: Trupti Bopanna, Drishya K.P, and Malini Muthamma
- II Place: Pooja H K and Vileena Gonsalves
- III Place: Muthamma M.B and Mary K.G.
The event was successfully organized under the leadership of Women Cell Coordinators, Sunitha S and Muthamma M B
