Workshop on Entrepreneurship Development and Industrial Visit

St. Anne’s Entrepreneurship Cell, Virajpet, with the support of Rev. Fr. Madulai Muthu, the Correspondent, Rev. Fr. Rony Ravi Kumar, the Principal, under the guidance of Mr. Joyson Lobo, St. Anne’s E-cell Convenor and faculty. Miss Vileena arranged an Industrial Visit (IV) to SAHYADRI COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND MANAGEMENT, MANGALORE on 22-03-2022.
At 10:00 am a batch of 40 students and two faculties reached Sahyadri campus and were taken to the seminar hall to attend the workshop, where MBA convenor Prof. Padmanabha and Dean of strategic planning, Prof. Ramesh K G addressed the gathering and followed by Dr. Vishal Samartha gave a brief introduction about the Sahyadri infrastructure and how the institution is much ahead in providing facilities for students and identifying the proper training exposure for them. The institution has taken a great leap in providing the infrastructure and getting corporates to establish their offices (especially for alumni) within the campus to ensure that the students can easily have access to a real-time work environment.
Later on, the session was facilitated by Mr. Johnson Tellis (Alumni), CEO & founder of TCE, who spoke on “Entrepreneurship Skills”, where students could gain more knowledge about entrepreneurship. Then they were pleased to accord 40 students grouped into 3 batches, each group was guided by a set of volunteers to visit industries that had been set by the students. There were 14 industries, along with start-ups, where they could get exposure to the industrial environment. They even briefed about on how the machineries work and the process of production.

These are done to expertise the students to the fields which they are interested in, and help them to do valuable projects of real-world applications.

They provide aerial solutions for industrial, environmental, and agricultural sectors. The products are custom-designed and tested in all possible conditions.

Technical Career Education is an organisation that offers training on future technologies in consultation with industries to students of engineering.
DreamSoft Innovations:
Dreamsoft Innovations is a game & web development firm that provides creative solutions for corporations and businesses sets consist of Unity 3D, Laravel, Bootstrap, Materialize CSS, Universal Windows Platform, and Android Studio.
Caliper Ltd
It is a company that serves niche industries in Aerospace, Defence, Nuclear, Oil & Gas sectors by providing hardware and tools. They also impart “Industrial Training” to engineering students to enable the building engineers to be productive in their careers.
Power Loom:
It is a clothing-making industry to promotes women’s entrepreneurship.
Research Design Lab:
RDL provides quick prototyping of electronic circuits, support for custom-designed products to test in our environment, and get to post-production. The entire process is completed in-house to ensure the shortest time to market at the least cost possible.
Lazer Cutting Industries
It is a precision cutting industry using 3D and 2D
Center for Excellence:
It is a company that deals with cybersecurity and ethical hacking.
Aptra:
It is one of the leading IT Companies in India that provides highly qualitative, timely delivered, and cost-effective client/server software solutions.
DT LABS:
It is a software product company. DTlabz is a technical space provided with major resources to help enthusiasts realise their dreams through technology. The lab also nurtures young minds through frequent guidance from the engineers and helps in solving problems faced in the process.
Overall, the industrial visit was a great benefit for the students. The students got a new exposure to the industry, and to compare the knowledge acquired in college to the working world.
A group of 40 students of the final year B.Com of St. Anne’s Degree College took part in the industrial visit to get practical knowledge and to get an insight into the way things work in a real-life scenario.
