Two Days Workshop “Financial Inclusion”
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Department of Business Administration of St. Anne’s Degree College, Virajpet, in collaboration with Aditya Birla, organized a two-day workshop on “Financial Inclusion” on the 1st and 2nd of December 2023. The program began with Mrs. Trupti Bopanna, the principal, giving a brief introduction to the topic.
The program was structured into five sessions:
Session 1: Introduction to Financial Inclusion
• Overview of financial inclusion and its significance
• Key concepts such as banking, savings, and credit
Session 2: Digital Financial Services
• Exploring digital payment methods
• Understanding the benefits and risks of digital transactions
Session 3: Budgeting and Financial Planning
• Basics of budgeting to manage personal finances
• Importance of setting financial goals
Session 4: Financial Institutions and Products
• Introduction to various financial institutions
• Overview of different financial products and services
Session 5: Interactive Case Study
• Real-life scenarios to apply the concepts learned
• Group discussions and problem-solving activities
Outcome:
• Increased awareness of financial concepts among students
• Enhanced understanding of digital financial services and their role in financial inclusion
• Familiarity with various financial institutions and products
• Engagement in interactive case studies facilitated practical application of knowledge
Feedback:
Participants expressed satisfaction with the workshop, highlighting the interactive nature of the sessions and the practical relevance of the content. Many students mentioned that they felt more confident in managing their finances after the workshop.
